Raith Manor

Welcome to Raith Manor, Kirkcaldy

inside Raith Manor

Abbotsford Raith Manor is the newest addition to the group and is a purpose built care home situated in the heart of Kirkcaldy which opened its doors in August 2015, offering support to adults with dementia, physical impairments and an assessment unit which is in partnership with Fife Council.

We are a 60 bedded service spread over three floors. Each floor has their own communal dining room and lounge with a resident’s kitchenette to promote independence in a safe environment. Every room has an en-suite and we welcome our residents to personalise their room to their own taste.  A great deal of consideration and attention to detail has gone into the choice of quality furnishings, and all features incorporated into the design, which guarantees the provision of a safe and secure environment for residents, staff and visitors alike.

We strive to ensure our residents and their families are provided the highest level of care and support which is reflected in our grade 5’s given from the Care Inspectorate.

Our team of staff are highly trained, some of who transferred from other Abbotsford homes to share their wealth of skills and knowledge to this new project, to meet the needs of each individual resident. We work closely with our residents and their families to ensure their needs are met.

We are dedicated to providing a fun and stimulating environment and hold many activities, entertainment events and even have our own hair salon within the care home.

We are not just a home, we are an extended family.

Eileen Crawford - Care Home Manager

I am a Registered General Nurse with over 30 years clinical and managerial experience. My background includes a strong emphasis in staff development and education and my previous roles include Home Manager, Quality Assurance, Training and Clinical Governance positions.  I have worked throughout the UK and have gained a wide knowledge of Regulatory/Legislative and best practice requirements.

I enjoy leading and collaborating with others to find solutions to ongoing challenges and maximise choice and contributions to care planning and care delivery from those I am working with, the residents and those close to them.

I have considerable experience in liaising with regulators and other
external agencies to identify service development opportunities and to improve partnership working.

My passion is supporting residents living with dementia, people with simple or complex nursing needs and those at end of life. I have been fortunate enough to have my work and training materials secure accreditation with organisations such as the Royal College of Nursing, the National Council for Palliative care and the Royal Pharmaceutical society.

Emma Bonellie - Assistant Care Home Manager

I am very proud of my role as Assistant Care Manager at Raith Manor and I feel privileged to be included in the Abbotsford family where I work alongside a wonderful staff team. I feel that teamwork is an essential part of delivering care as we need everyone to work together to give a holistic approach to care.

I have worked in the care sector since leaving school. I started my career as a care assistant working my way up to graduating from the University of Dundee in January 2005 as an Adult Nurse. Since qualifying I did a short spell working in a hospital, but my heart pulled me back to care homes and the elderly.

Caring for people is my passion and I get great satisfaction from my work. My aim is to work alongside my staff to motivate and lead by example to deliver a high standard of care and maintain respect and dignity at all times.
