ACE – Abbotsford’s Centre of Excellence - officially opened on the 9th of February 2017 in its very own training centre situated on the former site of the Head Office based in Glenrothes.
Abbotsford took the decision to create a multi-use training facility to develop and support our staff in the ever-changing care profession where we offer a variety of training and development opportunities, both internally and externally. ACE was then relocated in 2021 where it is now situated at Abbotsford’s Head Office based in Kirkcaldy.
Our training department became an SQA accredited centre to deliver Social Services & Healthcare SVQ’s in April 2018. ACE have full accreditation to deliver the following qualifications:
- Social Services & Healthcare – SCQF Level 6 (SVQ 2)
- Social Services & Healthcare – SCQF Level 7 (SVQ 3)
- Social Services & Healthcare – SCQF Level 9 (SVQ 4)
- Care Services Leadership & Management – SCQF Level 10 (SVQ 4)
We also deliver comprehensive training courses such as:
- Staff Induction
- Moving & Handling
- Infection Control
- Health & Safety
- First Aid
- Fire Awareness & Fire Marshal
- Specific medical and clinical courses
ACE is managed by Hazel who is a Registered Nurse and is our Lead Internal Verifier. Hazel oversees the running of all SVQ qualifications, identifies staff training needs and delivers various training courses and workshops. Mary Ann is our ‘Training & Development Co-ordinator’ who oversees all training aspects - from liaising with our management team to ensure the training requirements of all our staff are met, coaching staff and assisting with the delivery of courses, as well as coordinating any external training to provide bespoke courses that are relevant to our staff needs.
