Sensory Wall Art Project

A great afternoon was had by residents and visitors from Kirkcaldy Art club on Wed 14th August in Coll here at the manor. The hard-working volunteers came to see there finished masterpieces gracing the walls of Coll unit and enjoyed a wee cuppa and a nice spread provided by our cook Cathy and nicely set up by carer Dawn Easton. Jamie from the East fife mail also attended and did a few interviews lookout for that in this week’s paper.

Residents and members of Kirkcaldy art had a nice afternoon at the unveiling of the sensory artwork they had kindly worked on in partnership with us. They were delighted with the spots on the walls the residents had chosen to display their masterpieces and really were more than impressed with the sensory item's added by Senior carer Mandy Scott. A local journalist from the east fife mail also attended and did a wee bit for the mail and fife free press. Operations manager Alyson Vale also graced us with her presence and presented a cheque to the Art club £100 in way of a donation for all their hard work and kindness from start to finish on this collaboration art cub member Elma Macintyre was overwhelmed by this and very thankful. Residents Billy Stewart and Alex Murrie enjoyed getting their pictures taken for the paper. All the members of the art club couldn’t thank us enough for our welcoming reception and even sent a lovely thank you card.
