Dementia Awareness Week – High Tea

Wednesday, 22 May 2019

This week has been Dementia Awareness week and we had set up a week full of fun for our residents, their family and friends.

On Wednesday, we had a high tea memory meal where family and friends were asked if they would like to dine with our residents.

Rachel had the company of her daughter, son, daughter and son in law. Jim enjoyed the company of his wife and daughter. Mary’s daughter joined her, as did John’s daughter joined him. Linda’s son joined her while Lily was joined by her daughter and her friends. Kenny was also joined by his wife.

The tables were set and everyone took their places.

Our cook Diane had prepared the meal which started with tea and toast, accompanied with jam and butter followed by gammon steak with fries and salad or scampi with chips, peas and tartar sauce.

After the main meal, there was a selection of cakes with tea and coffee served.

Our residents really enjoyed the meal, as did their families and friends.
