Willie Nelson comes to Tayside View Newburgh

We had a 'new to us' entertainer come to play for us on Wednesday 3rd October. The sitting room in our Colonsay unit was filled with residents, family and staff all waiting whist he set up. We were not sure what to expect as he has not been here before but we were not disappointed! Willie played and sand songs from the 50's and 60's, songs by Cliff Richard, Johnny Cash, Englebert humperdink and Stieve Wonder and so many more. Funnily enough he did not play anything by Willie Nelson.
The particular songs Willie sang were familiar so had us all singing along enthusiastically. One resident who is quite stood up with her wlaking frame and when asked if she needed hel she said 'no i would like to dance' so that started it... next thing other residents helped by staff were either up and dancing or dancing in their seats! It was a superb afternoon, one resident commented "that was the liveliest afternoon we have had for some time" and I quite agree!
